MAKE AN IMPACT.
Want to join us in our mission of reaching people with the life-giving message of Jesus? Your generosity enables us to help more and more people experience a life-changing relationship with Him. We are truly grateful for your donation and hope the convenience and simplicity of online giving will be helpful to you.
Financial giving can be divided into two categories: tithes and offerings. The Bible teaches us that we worship the Lord with our tithe, which is 10% of our income contributed to the church on a regular basis. When we feel called to give over and above our tithe, we do so as an offering.
God-sized faith has been foundational for Woodlands since its founding in 1952. One such moment in this rich history is retold by Pastor Bill Ankerberg. As he wrote in late April 1989,
“On Sunday April 23, the Homewood Baptist Church voted to build a new million dollar sanctuary with child care facilities. I am convinced that when people look back at these reports to trace the history of this church that this will be viewed as one of the 5 most important decisions in the history of the church. This decision by the church is a real step of faith. Let all who follow after know that there is a mixture of faith and fear as we look to the future.”
Since the beginning, we have joined together to seek and embrace new opportunities to further reach the people of our communities, our state, our nation and our world. Each year God continues to give us more vision, and as we continue to build God’s house, you have the opportunity to help share the love of Jesus with even more people.
The facts are simple. Woodlands exists to bring God glory – to make His name great [Matthew 22:37-40]. We get our marching orders from the Great Commission [Matthew 28:17-20] - making disciples of all nations.
We are at a defining moment as a church. The question is, are we equipped to bring God more glory through more worshippers? We want to be a world-class church, “Making courageous Christ followers from all people groups for all people groups willing to risk all to serve all to save all.” The Woodlands vision claims that we exist for those outside our walls, and that we will do anything short of sin to reach those who are far from Christ.
Now is the time. In order to reach those no one is reaching, we have to do what no one is doing. It’s time to start thinking big, and taking courageous steps to spread the Gospel to our church, our community, andour world. Take action with us as we accelerate the Gospel with MISSION 178.
